Privacy Policy – Old Setu

Old Setu ("we", "our", "us") operates the Old Setu mobile application (the "App"), a marketplace that lets people in India buy and sell second-hand auto parts, vehicles and other used items. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

By using the App, you agree to this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

a) Information you give us • Name • Mobile phone number (used for OTP login) • Email address (if you sign in with Google or Apple, or add it to your profile) • City and state • Profile photo (optional) • Password (only if you register with a password; it is stored in encrypted, hashed form and we cannot read it)

b) Content you create • Ads you post, including title, description, price, category, city and photos • Chat messages you send to other users inside the App • Reports you submit about ads

c) Information from sign-in providers • If you log in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile photo from Google. • If you log in with Sign in with Apple, we receive a unique Apple user ID and, if you choose to share them, your name and email address. If you use Apple's "Hide My Email", we receive only an Apple relay email address. • If you log in with your mobile number, Google Firebase sends a one-time password (OTP) by SMS to verify your number.

d) Device permissions • Camera and Photo Library: only when you choose to add photos to an ad or your profile. • Location: only to help you find or set listings in your city. You can choose your city manually instead. You can turn these permissions off at any time in your iPhone Settings.

We do NOT collect health data, financial or payment card information, contacts, browsing history, or precise background location.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information only to run the App: • To create and secure your account and log you in • To publish your ads and show them to other users • To let buyers and sellers chat with each other • To show listings relevant to your city • To review reports and remove fraudulent, illegal or harmful content • To respond to your support requests • To keep the App safe and prevent misuse

We do NOT sell your personal information. We do NOT use your information for advertising. We do NOT track you across other companies' apps or websites.

3. What Other Users Can See

When you post an ad, other users can see the ad details and photos, your name, your city, and your profile photo (if added). Your phone number and email address are not shown publicly unless you choose to include them in your ad or share them in chat.

4. Sharing With Service Providers

We share information only with trusted third-party service providers that help us operate the App, such as providers of: • Login and phone number verification (OTP) • Secure cloud hosting and database services • Secure storage of ad and profile photos

These providers process data only on our behalf, only for the purposes described in this policy, and are required to keep it secure and confidential.

We may also disclose information if required by law, court order or a government authority in India, or to protect the safety of our users and the App.

5. Data Retention

We keep your information while your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your profile, ads and associated personal data from our active systems, except where we must keep certain records to comply with the law or resolve disputes.

6. Deleting Your Account

You can delete your account at any time from inside the App: Profile → Settings → Delete Account

7. Security

We use HTTPS encryption for all data sent between the App and our servers. Passwords are stored in hashed form. Access to data is restricted to authorised systems. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

8. Children

The App is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Safety and User Content

Users can report ads that are fake, fraudulent, duplicate or inappropriate. We review reports and may remove content or suspend accounts that violate our rules. Please meet buyers and sellers in safe public places and never share passwords or OTPs with anyone.

10. Your Rights

Under applicable Indian law, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you may: • Access the personal information we hold about you • Correct or update your information (you can edit your profile in the App) • Delete your account and data • Withdraw consent by deleting your account

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated policy.
